TV star Patrick Murray announced in January that scans had uncovered a tumour and that follow-ups had found have found it to be (Cured)
According to comedy actor Patrick Murray, he’s been cured of his lung cancer and that the tumor in his liver is shrinking after treatment.
Patrick Murray, 65, who played Mickey Pearce in Only Fools And Horses, spoke about his diagnosis earlier this year.
He had a diagnosis of lung cancer which was removed surgically and treated with chemo.
Follow-up scans found an unconnected tumour in his liver. His lung cancer treatment was also successful.
He mentioned briefly that he was treated with Tace, which is a specific type of chemotherapy and other medicines designed to restrict blood supply to the tumor.
In an update on Twitter, he wrote: “Thanks again for all your lovely messages. As you may know, I was diagnosed with lung cancer last July”
But luckily this was an operation that did not need to be done to the lung. It was treated just like the other cancer and is easily accessible through Tace.
On Friday, I visited my oncologist. She told me that my cancer had been cured and that the tumor in my liver was shrinking.
“I am over the moon with this latest news, and I know it isn’t over yet either. But you can imagine what a milestone that is for me.”
Boycie, who died last year, had been struggling with cancer for many years. It’s difficult to imagine the show without him on it.
